In his nearly fifteen years in private practice, Mr. Hansen has been involved in projects for National Steel and Shipbuilding Co., Southwest Marine, The National Shipbuilding Research Program (NSRP), LPH Consulting, W.R. Phelps Engineering, Solar Turbines and others. Les has worked in all aspects of shipbuilding operations, including facilities construction, transportation, contractual and legal areas, and environmental. His involvement with the NSRP is extensive, including membership in several technical panels and management of research projects. The most recent project was the Facilities and Tooling Panel’s, Wireless Equipment Monitoring and Control System (WEMACS). Les is currently working with the Crosscut Initiatives (Education and Training) Panel on projects focusing on workforce development and shipbuilding skill standards. Les also authored many technical reports for the NSRP. |

At NASSCO, Les held many positions including NSRP Program Coordinator – assisting the Program Manager, AOE Program Coordinator (Navy’s billon-dollar shipbuilding program), Corrosion Control Engineer, Senior Staff Engineer, and Design Engineer. During his tenure at NASSCO, Les actively participated in many NSRP projects and panel activities with the Environmental, Facilities, Coatings, and Education and Training Panels. |
